A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider handles the query and supplies its results. Surry County Criminal History does not keep a local log of the terms entered into those boxes.

We retain an email or other direct message as needed to answer it. Messages remain within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.

Surry County Criminal History does not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to records held by the Surry County Sheriff's Office, the Surry County courts, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, and the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. Visitor information is not compiled into consumer reports or third-party criminal profiles, and the website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention periods, and sharing rules govern information submitted to those tools. We do not set those practices. Review the provider's policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links lead to the Surry County sheriff, North Carolina courts, state agencies, legal resources, and outside search services. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy applies. Read that policy before providing personal details.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. We do not control that outside tracking.
